Sash Cord Repair Process

The process involved in a sash cord repair and replacement is:

• Removal of  stop beads
• Removal of both sashes
• Removal of parting beads
• Scraping all window friction points
• Check and  replace any damaged putty
• Balance windows to existing weights
• Oil all pulleys, check running smoothly and functioning
• Replacing all 4 cotton sash cords with new quality 6 or 7mm
• Install top sash
• Re-install parting beads
• Install bottom sash
• Reinstall stop beads
• Set stop beads at 2-3mm checking the windows run smoothly
